Week 5: 7/14 to 7/18 – Garden Variety Vegetables Age6-9

Note: Deposit: $150 Due to hold your spot. The remaining $125 balance due before the course start date. 

Our focus is on “Stem,” where in the mornings, our campers, the Junior Shinelings, will learn how to make a product - bath bombs, sugar scrubs, soaps (melt and pour), and the afternoon will be focused on STEM. In the mornings we will create items such as bath bombs, lip balms, melt and pour soaps (Candles will not be included in these weeks, due to the boiling and heat temperature of the wax). We will have lunch outdoors if it is nice outside as there is a park across the street. In the afternoons the Junior Shinelings will focus on doing items related to STEM, such as building a volcano, creating putty, attempting experiments outside, such as cooking an egg on the side or pizza! Art will be incorporated by painting bath bombs, or other items. 

• Designed for rising K to 4th grade. (The suggested age will be 6 years of age to 9)
• Space is limited to 12 children per session.

Camp Location

The Soap and Shine is located at the Chapel Hill University Place location at 900 Willow Drive Unit 111.

Camp Hours

• Full Day: 9:00am – 3:00pm 
• Drop-off: 8:30am – 9:00am 
• Pick-up: 3:00pm – 3:30pm

What Comes with the Camp

• Each Junior Shineling will receive an apron.
• Each Junior Shineling will receive a notebook.
• Focus on STEM activities
• Morning: Make products like bath bombs, sugar scrubs, and melt-and-pour soaps
• Afternoon: STEM experiments and art projects
• Limited to 12 children per session

Pricing and Additional Information

*Early registration is open until February 10th. You can register in person or online. If you register by January 31, you will receive a 10% discount.

Our camp runs Weekly Monday through Friday, 9am to 3pm, and costs $275. A $150 deposit will hold a seat for your child, and $125 is due prior to the camp start date.

Shinelings will need to pack lunch, bring a water bottle and wear suitable clothes for crafting (no open-toe shoes please). Each Junior Shineling will have access to a fridge/freezer and a microwave if needed.

The registration deadline for each weekly camp is seven days prior to the first day. We will run the camps regardless of the number of Junior Shinelings registered. You will receive an invoice from Square for the remainder of the balance three weeks before the first day of camp. We appreciate your prompt payment to secure your child’s spot. If we do not receive your payment five days prior to the first day of camp, your spot will be offered to another camper, and your deposit will be lost.

Waitlist

• If you were added to a waitlist, there is no fee. However, you will have two weeks once notified to pay the deposit if a spot opens. You will be notified via email and have one week to respond.
