About Us

Welcome to our store, The Soap and Shine! My husband and I started making soap because we were looking for a fun way to spend time together during "Dry January" of 2020, and it grew from there! Specifically, when COVID-19 hit, my work hours were reduced, so I remembered making some handmade soaps with my husband, and I decided to try it again (this time, without him!). Having grown up in a household that cooks, I realized my culinary skills transferred over to soap making. After figuring out how to use the calculators, learning from online soap making communities, and spending time in my soap lab, my confidence grew along with the quality of my soap! Check out our shop to see my original handmade soaps! All our soaps are artisan crafted by me and from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Some of our bars are organic soaps, and we have stopped using palm oil. Plus, I put my love into each bar! I hope you enjoy my #hotsoap, and please follow us on Instagram or on Facebook.
